Two Time ALMS Champions. Ready for a New Endeavor
Following an impressive run in the American Le Mans Series that culminated in two successive championships in the GT-Challenge (GTC) ranks, Black Swan is on to their newest endeavor, racing in The Pirelli World Challenge Series.
Competing in everything from a Porsche RSR in the GT ranks, to the highly touted Lola Coupe in the LMP2 category, Black Swan's most notable accomplishments came in the spec-category GTC. Competing against some of the most venerable names in Porsche racing, including teams like: Alex Job Racing, TRG, and more, Black Swan Racing emerged in 2010 to win both the team and driver's championships handily, even after missing the series opener at Sebring. Moving on to 2011, it was much of the same for Boston-based organization, taking not only the championship, but victories in the series' two signature races as well; The Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, as well as the Petit Le Mans.
Spearheaded by Team Principal and Driver Tim Pappas, the team is built on his thorough and complete understanding of the sport, of which he's been driving since he was twelve. Pappas brings significant racing experience, proven program management skills and aggressive marketing plans to his racing organization thanks to his experience as Chief Executive Office of Pappas Enterprises, Inc., a 100-year-old Real Estate development and management firm based in Boston, Massachussetts. Recently, Tim has led the company through a series of commercial and residential developments, and his efforts earned national awards in 2007 and 2008 from the American Institute of Architects, the Construction Management Association Green Building Council.
