Black Swan Racing Extends Consistency Through Lime Rock

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (July 8, 2013)- Following another pair of top-10 finishes in this weekend’s eighth and ninth rounds of the Pirelli World Challenge at Lime Rock Park, Black Swan Racing has continued their impressive record of completing every lap during the 2013 season.

“Lime Rock always produces close racing and mixed results, and that’s the best way I can describe our weekend,” stated driver Tim Pappas. “This is a learning year for our team and we are focused primarily on consistent finishes. We made progress with every lap, so it was a good weekend.”

Campaigning the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 for a full season for the first time in North America, the entire Black Swan organization had extra motivation at this weekend’s event. With the scenic Lakeville, Connecticut track located just a few hours from Manhattan, the team played host to guests from Mercedes-Benz, AMG and the AMG Private Lounge, an online community of AMG enthusiasts.

“I enjoyed meeting many of our new fans from the Private Lounge and from Mercedes Benz USA,” stated Pappas. “Their collective support and appreciation helps push us to move up the grid. We hope to deliver a win for everyone before the final checker of 2013.”

During Friday’s Race One, the No. 54 machine ran a relatively quiet race, starting in eighth position and winding up in seventh with little drama along the way. The pace of the race gave Pappas the seventh starting position for Saturday’s Race Two, setting the stage for a chance at a fifth top-five finish.
